SUBJECT:  Notice of Proposed Reprimand

 

1.  This is to advise you that I propose to reprimand you for failure to comply with established regulatory requirements concerning your wear of the USAF military uniform.  

 

2.  The reason supporting this action is as follows: 

 

     a.  On (date) you were notified of the regulatory requirement mandating that you, as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), wear the USAF military uniform while in civilian employee, civil service status.  Specifically,  Air Force Instuction 36-703, Civilian Conduct and Responsibility; and, Air Force Instruction 36-801, Uniforms for Civilian Employees; and, Air Force Instruction 36-2903, Dress and Personal Appearance of Air Force Personnel, mandate military uniform wear by ARTs performing civilian employee duties while in an ART Position.  Most specifically, AFI 36-2903, Table 6.1., Rule 14 reads:

 

an Air Reserve technician must [wear the military uniform] when performing duty in civil service status as an Air Reserve Technician

 

Note 1 to the same Table 6.1. also specifically states, “Members will conform to the same standards of appearance, military customs, practices, and conduct in uniform prescribed for active duty members.” 

 

     b. On (date) at approximately (time), you reported to perform duty in civil service status as an Air Reserve Technician and you were not wearing the required, USAF military uniform, as prescribed in the regulatory policy cited above.

    c.  On (date) at approximately (time), you reported to perform duty in civil service status as an Air Reserve Technician and you did not conform to the same standards of appearance, military customs, practices, or conduct in uniform (whichever of these is applicable) prescribed for active duty members in accordance with regulatory policy cited above.  Specifically, you did/did not. . .(fill in specifics of infraction)

 

3. You may reply to this notice of proposed reprimand to me in writing, orally, or both not later than one workday after your receipt of this notice. Full consideration will be given to any answer you submit before a final decision is made.  Whether or not you reply, a written decision will be issued to you after the expiration of the time allowed to reply.
