IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED FOR UNDER AGE 60 DISPLACED USAR & AFR NON-DUAL STATUS TECHS

All non-dual status technicians under the age of 60 who were removed from their permanent positions as a technician and made temporary employees from the period 1April 00-30Sep00/ separated or retired must immediately contact me at either Pres164@aol.com or EspositoJ@usarc-emh2.army.mil .

Although the law has been written and signed (NDAA2001 Section 525), to date no action has been taken by DOD to provide transition instuctions back to permanent status for those individuals (under 60 non-dual status technicians) , who before enactment of the law were involuntarily separated/retired or changed to temporary status because of the mandatory retirement provisions of NDAA 2000.

As a member of the USARC partnership council, be advised that although this issue has been addressed by the parties since it's enactment and although USARC has taken action on their part to obtain blanket approval to reinstate all affected this issue remains unresolved as of this writing.  USARC is trying to prevent the need for individual requests from Army Reserve technicians to be sent to the Secretary.  Be advised that I have informed the USARC that I as Council 164 President will wait until 30Jan01 to obtain this blanket approval and should this not happen than I will provide guidance and assistance to all on this issue.

In anticipation that this may not occur timely I need each and every EMAIL address of those impacted to ensure all are properly informed timely and sent some guidance for requesting reinstatement.
